Who is MedDeutsch for?
MedDeutsch is designed for international medical professionals (doctors, nurses, and medical students) who need to learn German medical terminology for working in Germany. It's particularly useful for those preparing for the FSP (Fachsprachpruefung) and KP (Kenntnispruefung) exams.
What German levels does the app cover?
MedDeutsch covers A1 through C1 across five courses and 76 chapters: A1 (12), A2 (12), B1 (15), B2 (17) and FSP Medizin (20). Every chapter includes vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, writing and speaking practice.
How does the AI grading work?
Your written answers and spoken recordings are assessed against the same criteria an examiner uses, and you get a score per criterion plus specific corrections. Speaking answers are transcribed first, so you can see exactly what came across. Feedback arrives in your own language while the German stays authentic.
Does the app include FSP exam preparation?
Yes. MedDeutsch includes 11 timed mock exams: A1, A2, B1 and B2 sets plus a Medical ESP group built around the FSP task formats, which are also the formats the KP draws on. You practise patient history taking (Anamnese), clinical documentation and doctor-patient communication under exam conditions, and each attempt is scored.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes. Every lesson ships inside the app, so chapters, vocabulary and exercises work with no connection at all. Listening audio downloads the first time you play it and stays cached on your device afterwards. AI feedback is the one part that needs a connection.
What can I use for free?
The first 5 chapters of the A1 course and one A1 mock exam are free forever, with no payment and no card. AI marking of your writing and speaking is not part of the free tier: those exercises offer self-assessment against the model answer instead. Everything else — the remaining 71 chapters, the other 10 mock exams and AI marking throughout — needs a subscription. There is no time-limited trial: the free chapters stay free.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID settings. After cancellation, you'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
